E-Learning

The concept of e-learning initially arose during the 1990’s, bringing with it a wave of uncertainty as to its credibility in terms of the supporting infrastructure. Years later, when technology had been developed to required levels, e-learning has become a recognised term, and a learning method of choice for many educational institutions and organisations.

The European Union is embracing this emerging trend by allocating significant levels of funding to developing e-learning technologies and practices.

Recent beliefs surround the concept of ‘blended learning’ solutions, which incorporate e-learning methods with other traditional learning techniques such as desk based and tutor based teaching.
