Ultra Precision Micrscopy and Machining Centre
Wed 10th Sep 2008
The new Ultra Precision Microscopy and Machining Centre at the University of Nottingham opens on 10 September 2008.
Industrialists invited to the launch in the Engineering Faculty’s Precision Manufacturing Centre will see the latest manufacturing and prototyping technologies and find out how to access them without significant up-front investment.
Existing customers, suppliers and funding bodies will be giving short presentations, including Dr. Faz Chowdhury, Director of Product Development at Nemaura Pharma, Ian Belding, Sales Manager at Zeiss SMT, and David Wallace, International and Innovation Director at EMDA.
Tours of the facilities will show a wide range of state-of-the-art manufacturing systems currently accessible to industry. These include high-precision machining centres (±0.5 micron accuracy), ultra-high precision metrology systems (0.25 micron uncertainty), reconfigurable/flexible assembly cells and other advanced manufacturing systems (including a Focused Ion Beam system with a 4 nanometre resolution).
This free event is particularly relevant to those involved in product design, prototyping and manufacturing from the aerospace, automotive, motorsport and medical device sectors.
To register please contact Rachel Watson on 0115 9513743 or email rachel.watson@nottingham.ac.uk.
