A number of novel MEMS devices have been designed for space applications, along side the miniaturisation of critical components has been the development of advanced device packaging technologies. This workshop sponsored by ESA and the Science & Technology Facilities Council highlights European advances in MEMS and packaging technologies both in industry and at research institutes. It also provides a forum for developers of these technologies to network with companies outside of the space domain to find new commercial opportunities.
